For how long had you not been involved in work, training or education?I was not in work, training or education for around 5 months. How did you feel about your employment prospects before you registering with Venture Helpers? I wanted to work in a job role that was in my area of interest, but I was not getting that because of lack of experience and opportunity. When you started on our programme, what was your ambition? My ambition is to be a Web Developer and build more self-confidence. What was the first thing that Venture Helpers did to support you? Venture Helpers assisted me with my CV and identifying suitable job roles. They have helped me to apply for a role as a Digital Champion, helping others learn how to use. How long after you started working with Venture Helpers, were you placed into a professional role or apprenticeship? What was the role? It took less than a month. The role was as a Digital Champion providing support to a group of learners. What would your advice be to someone who is currently out of work and considering working with Venture Helpers? I would say they should always arrange time to register with Venture Helpers and don’t miss out on potential job and training opportunities. |

My name is John and I am a Tower Hamlets resident. Tell us about your background before you started with Venture Helpers? I had been unemployed for 8 months and had applied for a number of jobs without luck. I have been living with family, so rent wasn’t a major issue, however, being unemployed made me lose confidence in my own ability. What support did you receive from Venture Helpers? I was faced with many barriers and Venture Helpers provided me with Digital Training, which allowed me to be able to access my emails and apply for jobs online and much more. I also received guidance in regards to my personal and financial situation and I was sign posted to other relevant organisations to get the best possible support and advice. Would you recommend Venture Helpers to others looking for employment or training support? What is your name, age and which Borough do you live in? My name is Khusna, I am 33 years old and I currently live in Tower Hamlets. What were you doing before you registered Venture Helpers? I was looking for employment and training support. I volunteered with Tower Hamlets Health Programme. I undertook Outreach Work and attended events and workshops. In addition to that I was a full-time carer for my father who was bed bound and was unable to self-care and had restricted mobility. For how long had you not been involved in work, training or education? I have not been involved in any work or training for 2 years. How did you feel about your employment prospects before you registered with Venture Helpers? Before I registered with Venture Helpers, I lost hope and confidence in finding any suitable work and training for myself. When you registered with Venture Helpers, what was your ambition? To build my confidence and find an appropriate job or training that was suitable around my family life. What was the first thing that Venture Helpers did to support you? Venture Helpers helped me create an exceptional CV and build my confidence whilst searching for employment and training opportunities. My adviser helped me find relevant jobs online and searched for courses to improve my skill set. She also prepared me for upcoming interviews, which was a great help, as I had no idea of what to expect in an interview due to being out of work for a long period. How long after you started working with Venture Helpers, were you placed into a employment? What was the role? After a short time of working with Venture Helpers, I was offered a job in an Estate Agent via Venture Helpers. My role is an Admin Officer. I was overwhelmed and extremely grateful, as this would not have been possible without the help from Venture Helpers. Think back to how you felt when you were out of work, what have been the biggest benefits to working? When I think back of not being employed, I feel unhappy and feel as if I have not achieved anything in my working life. I had a lot of hope and dreams for myself and my family, which I could not fulfil. Now the benefits of working, I can make everything happen just the way I like. I can value the money, use it to help educate my kids by sending them to extra tuition classes, help with cost of bills, support my husband and have a family holiday once a year. What would your advice be to someone who is currently out of work and considering working with Venture Helpers? My advise to anyone who is out of employment, please join with Venture Helpers. I would highly recommend them, as they have been the only people in my life who have truly helped me to get back into employment, with all the support provided. |
